Tamilnadu Heavy Rain: Thunderstorm likely for next 5 days!

Light to moderate rain with thunder lightning and gusty winds may occur at a few places in tamil Nadu, Puduwai, and Karaikal today.

The chennai Meteorological Department has informed that 10 districts including Nellai, Kumari, and Thoothukudi are likely to receive thunder and lightning rain.

In this regard, the chennai Meteorological Center has issued a statement: Above the southern parts of India, in the lower atmospheric layers, there is an area of variable wind direction. Atmospheric low circulation prevails over the Kumari sea and adjacent areas.

Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning and gusty winds (30 mph to 40 mph) may occur at a few places in tamil Nadu, Puduvai, and Karaikal today. The hilly areas of coimbatore district, Nilgiris, Theni, Dindigul, Tenkasi, Virudhunagar Ramanathapuram, Thoothukudi, Tirunelveli, and Kanyakumari districts received heavy rain at one or two places.

Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning may occur at a couple of places in tamil Nadu tomorrow over Puduwai and Karaikal. On the 14th and 15th, light to moderate rain may occur at one or two places over South tamil Nadu and Delta districts and Karaikal. Other districts of tamil Nadu and Puduvai may witness dry weather. From the 16th to the 18th, dry weather is likely to prevail over tamil Nadu, Puduwai, and Karaikal

Maximum temperature forecast for the next five days:

From today to 16th, there is little chance of a major change in the maximum temperature in the Puduwai and Karaikal regions of tamil Nadu, and the maximum temperature may rise gradually for the next three days.

The maximum temperature today and tomorrow is likely to be 2°-3° Celsius above normal at a few places in North tamil Nadu and close to normal over Puduwai and Karaikal. 37°-40° Celsius at most places in the plains of the interior districts of tamil Nadu and 33°-37° Celsius at most places in the coastal areas.

The maximum temperature for the next three days from 14th to 16th is likely to be 2°-4°C above normal at most places. 38°-41° Celsius at most places in the plains of the interior districts of tamil Nadu and 34°-38° Celsius at most places in the coastal areas.

Humidity:

Humidity may be 30-50% in plains during the afternoon, 40-70% at other times, and 50-80% in coastal areas of tamil Nadu's interior districts. High temperature and high humidity can cause discomfort in a couple of places.

  Cyclonic winds with a speed of 40 to 45 kmph and occasional gusts of 55 kmph are likely to prevail over the Kumari Kadal areas, gulf of Mannar and adjoining South tamil Nadu coastal areas and South kerala coastal areas today and tomorrow.
