Interesting fight in Maharashtra, old 'enemies' become friends...
Surprising political changes are being seen in the 2024 lok sabha elections in Maharashtra. With parties breaking and new alliances forming, where one-time allies have become rivals, and enemies have become allies. An example of this was seen in Union minister Amit Shah's rally in Nanded, where former chief minister ashok chavan and bjp candidate Pratap Patil Chikhlikar shared the stage. Chikhlikar, the then undivided shiv sena MLA from Loha in Latur district, had joined the bjp in 2019 and defeated ashok chavan from congress stronghold Nanded in the 2019 lok sabha elections.
In an election rally, Modi had targeted Chavan over the adarsh Society scam, while the then chief minister devendra fadnavis had said that Chavan was a dealer, not a leader. Chavan joined bjp in february this year and became a rajya sabha member. He is now campaigning for Chikhlikar and other bjp candidates in the Marathwada region. In 2019, Shiv Sena's Shrirang Barne defeated ncp leader Ajit Pawar's son Parth Pawar in the Maval lok sabha constituency. This was the first time that any member of Sharad Pawar's extended family had to taste electoral defeat.
Talking about the year 2023, ajit pawar broke ties with his uncle and joined hands with the bjp, and now in the year 2024, Ajit Pawar's ncp is campaigning for Mahayuti. In Maharashtra, Ajit Pawar's party is in alliance with ncp, Eknath Shinde's shiv sena, and BJP.
Ajit Pawar is said to have convinced popular television and film actor Amol Kolhe to join the ncp and contest the 2019 Shirur lok sabha constituency against sitting shiv sena MP Shivajirao Adhalrao-Patil, who was then in the undivided Shiv Sena. Amol Kolhe had defeated Adhalrao-Patil. Kolhe is now with Sharad Pawar-led ncp (SP). In the seat-sharing arrangement of the ruling BJP-Shiv Sena-NCP 'Mahayuti' alliance, the Shirur seat went to ajit pawar and to defeat Kolhe, he inducted Adhalrao Patil into the NCP. Now ajit pawar will campaign against his former disciple Kolhe.
