Amidst the first phase, Atishi appeals to the people, 'This time...'

Voting is underway on friday morning for 102 parliamentary seats in 21 states and union territories of the country. After the start of voting, delhi Minister and aam aadmi party (AAP) leader Atishi has made a big appeal to the people in her ex-post. In his post, he has asked the voters to cast their vote to save the democracy of the country.

Delhi government minister Aatish has written in the X-post, "Today is the beginning of the first phase of lok sabha elections. My appeal to the people voting in different parts of the country is that this time the country should vote to defeat the dictatorship and those who are against the Constitution. Voters must go to their polling booths to save the country's democracy. The future of India's democracy now depends on the power of your votes."

Voting on 102 parliamentary seats today

Voting is going on in the morning on 102 parliamentary seats in the first phase of lok sabha elections 2024. Voters from 21 states and union territories including UP, Bihar, West Bengal, Maharashtra, MP, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, tamil Nadu, Lakshadweep, Manipur, sikkim are reaching the polling booths and voting.

16.63 crore voters will cast their vote

According to the Central election Commission, more than 16.63 crore voters will exercise their franchise in the first phase of lok sabha elections. These include 8.4 crore male and 8.23 crore female voters. The number of first time voters is 35.67 lakh. The number of voters in the age group of 20 to 29 years is 3.51 crore. Whereas 1.87 lakh polling booths have been made.
