The police department arrested the person who came to vote for the second time in coimbatore and sent them away after warning them. The first phase of voting for the lok sabha elections has been completed across tamil Nadu yesterday. Thirunavukarasu (age 52) hails from Nallampalayam area of Coimbatore. He showed his right index finger to the employee who was inking his hand when he went to vote in booth number 145 of Nallampalayam Municipal Corporation Middle school in coimbatore lok sabha constituency yesterday.

Then when the officials looked at the index finger of his left hand, it was revealed that he had already voted at one place and came here to vote for the second time. Following this, the Returning Officer Lata Maheshwari filed a complaint at Goundampalayam police Station. Based on the complaint, Thirunavukkara was arrested and investigated.

At that time he had voted in two places, Gandhipuram and Nallampalayam, and said that he had voted in the Gandhipuram area and came to Nallampalayam. Subsequently, the police registered a case against Thirunavukaras under two sections 171(D) and 171 F(2) arrested him, and later released him on bail.
