Barabanki lok sabha seat is a reserved seat for scheduled caste (ST). A total of 13 candidates are trying their luck on this seat in the 2024 general elections. Barabanki lok sabha seat used to be a strong stronghold of Congress. But with time, SP and bjp have succeeded in strengthening their base in this area. In the 2019 general elections, upendra Singh Rawat of bharatiya janata party had won this seat. He got a total of 535917 votes. upendra Singh Rawat's nearest rival in this election was Samajwadi Party's ram Sagar Rawat, who got the support of a total of 425777 voters in this area. In this way, upendra Singh Rawat won this election by a margin of 110140 votes. In the 2019 general elections, there were a total of 1816830 voters in Barabanki parliamentary constituency. In this, the number of female voters was 846712 while the number of male voters was 970063.

There are 22 lakh 16 thousand 172 voters on Barabanki lok sabha seat in the 2024 general elections. Of these, 48 thousand 934 young voters will cast their vote for the first time. The total voters include 11 lakh men, 10 lakh women and 71 third gender voters. Barabanki seat has 76 percent population of Hindu community and 22 percent population of Muslim community. Barabanki parliamentary constituency includes 5 assembly seats.
