MoU between Gurugram university and IIT Mandi…

Gurugram university in collaboration with IIT Mandi is starting a joint PhD program for the students of engineering department. For this, an MoU was signed on wednesday between Gurugram university and indian Institute of Technology, IIT Mandi.

Vice Chancellor of Gurugram university, Prof. Dinesh Kumar told that this joint PhD program will start from the new academic session 2024-25. After this, students wishing to do PhD will be able to take admission in it. He said that this will give a boost to the research programs of both the institutes. The Vice Chancellor said that under this, students doing PhD in various subjects of engineering department from Gurugram university will get a chance to study in IIT Mandi also.

He told that the students doing PhD from GU will be doing research on modern equipment like advanced lithography (e-beam, HIBL, 365 nm lithography), sputtering, ion etching and sophisticated characterization equipment available in the research center built at a cost of about Rs 200 crore in IIT Mandi. Will be able to avail benefits for the works. The agreement was signed by professor Dinesh Kumar, Vice Chancellor of Gurugram university and professor Laxmidhar Behera, director of IIT Mandi.

Joint degree will also be awarded

With this agreement, students doing PhD in various subjects of engineering department from GU will get guidance from experts of both the universities for their research work. On completion of PhD, they will also be awarded a joint degree from both the institutions. Vice Chancellor Prof. Dinesh Kumar said that this agreement of Gurugram university with IIT Mandi is full of possibilities of beneficial research and training for the students.
