Shock to punjab congress before the elections! 

In punjab, the process of leaders of opposition parties joining bjp continues. On thursday (May 23), former congress mla Harminder Singh Jassi joined BJP. He got included in bjp by Union minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar. He joined bjp under a program in the capital Delhi. After joining bjp, Harminder Singh Jassi spoke to the media and told the reason for joining the ruling party at the Centre. Harminder Singh said, "I have taken inspiration from the policies of the prime minister, he raised the name of india in the world. I am very impressed by the image the prime minister has created in the world.

Jassi had contested independent elections in 2022

Jassi has been an mla from Talwandi Sabo in Punjab. He had decided to contest the assembly elections as an independent in 2022 and had said that before the nomination, he had announced to leave the Congress. Jassi is considered close to Dera Sachcha Sauda Chief Gurmeet ram Rahim. He has been mla twice from Talwandi Sabo and once from bathinda Urban seat.

Was angry with congress for not getting ticket

After losing the assembly elections in 2017, he wanted to contest from Talwandi in 2022 but congress had given the ticket to someone else in his place. Jassi was angry about this and hence decided to contest the elections as an independent. Expressing his displeasure, Jassi had said that those who joined the party just before the elections were given tickets and were ignored.   Harminder Singh Jassi has also been a minister in Punjab. With Harminder Singh Jassi joining bjp, the party's strength is expected to increase in Bathinda. There are 13 lok sabha seats in punjab where voting will be held in the last phase on june 1. bathinda seat is also included in these. From where bjp has fielded Parampal Kaur Sidhu.
