Another case of fake wallet PLATFORM' target='_blank' title='digital-Latest Updates, Photos, Videos are a click away, CLICK NOW'>digital house arrest of a doctor for 24 hours has come to light in Indore. Cyber criminals once again targeted a doctor and defrauded him of Rs 3 lakh by threatening him and fearing that he would be implicated in a false case. It was told that a parcel had been booked by him for thailand which was intercepted by the parcel customs and drugs were found in the parcel. Additional DCP (Crime) Rajesh Dandotia told the media that Dr. Kashyap Shah reached the police office with his father and lodged a complaint. Shah told that recently he had received a call from an unknown person, who told that a parcel had been booked for thailand in his (Dr. Kashyap) name. The parcel was stopped by customs, it was told that drugs were being transported in it. He also told the complainant that his details were also found in a human trafficking case.

Doctor accused of human trafficking

The fraudster who made the call also gave some information about the doctor to win his trust. Later, in response to questions, Dr. Kashyap said that he did not send any parcel. Here the thugs told him that many investigating agencies can investigate the case as there were drugs in the parcel and the doctor was also accused of human trafficking. After this, the doctor got scared thinking that the caller was a real fraudster. The cyber criminal further told him that the Cyber Cell officials would also record his statement.

Dr. Kashyap agreed to this and later he received a video call from Skype, where he was threatened that several agencies were investigating the case, so he would have to remain online on the video call until the verification process was completed. The victim doctor told the police that the caller did not allow him to leave from there. He even told her not to go to his clinic. The cyber fraudsters told the doctor that if he paid them 90 percent of the parcel amount, they could stop taking action against him. The complainant reached the bank and deposited Rs 3 lakh in the bank account given by the accused.
