A barrage of questions has started on the ruling bjp government in Delhi. delhi Pradesh congress Committee President Devendra Yadav has launched a scathing attack on the government over the 'Mahila Samridhi Yojana'. Devendra Yadav said, "The promise made by the bjp to give Rs 2500 per month to the women of delhi under the 'Mahila Samridhi Yojana' has now become just an empty dream. This scheme has been lying in cold storage for the last three months and chief minister Rekha Gupta is misleading women by just making statements."

'Outline of Mahila Samridhi Yojana not prepared'

He further said, "When no concrete outline of the scheme has been prepared, then why is there talk of giving Rs 2500? The chief minister is saying that money will be given, but women will not be able to use it completely. When the entire amount cannot be withdrawn, then what is the point of calling it a scheme of Rs 2500." He said that all this is just a game to mislead people.

'Inflation is breaking the back'

Devendra Yadav further said, "Today when inflation is breaking the back, unemployment is increasing, are the poor families in a position to save money? BJP's statement that it will give Rs 2500, but a part of it will be deposited in Recurring Deposit (RD) and only the rest will be used, is like cheating the innocent women of Delhi." He alleged, "Neither the structure of the scheme is ready, nor is it clear which women will get this money. The time limit and amount of recurring deposit is also not fixed, so then this announcement is just another slogan."

He also reminded of the promise made at jawaharlal nehru Stadium on the occasion of Women's Day on march 8, when a budget of Rs 5100 crore was announced. Yadav quipped, "The government was formed on february 20, big claims were made on march 8, but till date the result is zero. Was all this just a pretense to woo women?"
