A mock drill is being conducted in the country's capital delhi on wednesday (7 May). In this sequence, a blackout done in the New delhi area for 15 minutes to 20 minutes at around 8 pm. The lights of the entire New delhi area will be turned off except the PM house and the President House. This also includes street lights.

The NDMC said, "Power supply will be disrupted in the New delhi Municipal Council area from 8 pm to 8.15 pm today as part of civil mock drill measures. All residents are requested to cooperate."

Mock drills were conducted in many crowded areas of Delhi. Mock drills were conducted at Lajpat Nagar, ISBT, delhi Cantt and IGI Airport.

Mock drills at 55 places

'Mock drills' (security exercises) are being conducted at 55 places including Connaught Place, Khan Market and chandni Chowk to check the preparations of security agencies in Delhi. A senior officer said that during the 'mock drill', various scenarios like air strikes, incidents of fire at multiple places simultaneously and search and rescue operations are being shown.

The army carried out Operation Sindoor

This mock drill is being conducted at a time when the indian armed forces have carried out 'Operation Sindoor' in pakistan and Pakistan-occupied kashmir (PoK). Under this, terrorist hideouts were targeted. These hideouts included Jaish-e-Mohammed's Bahawalpur stronghold and Lashkar-e-Taiba's Muridke base.

Revenge for pahalgam attack

The army carried out Operation Sindoor to avenge the pahalgam terror attack. On april 22, 26 people were killed in a terrorist attack in pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir.
