Israel has decided to launch a fresh large-scale military operation in Gaza, after which britain halted talks on a free trade agreement with Israel. britain said that it has imposed sanctions in view of the continued serious violence by extremist Israelis living in the settlements of the occupied West Bank.

Prime minister Keir Starmer described the situation in the region as completely intolerable. He reiterated the demand for a ceasefire and a large-scale increase in humanitarian aid for the affected people in Gaza.

After Starmer's parliamentary statement, Foreign minister David Lammy informed the parliament about the latest sanctions against individuals and organizations supporting violence against Palestinian communities in the West Bank.

Lammy said that there is continuous violence from extremist Israeli settlers in the West Bank, against which action is required. He said, "It is the responsibility of the Israeli government to intervene and stop these aggressive actions. Their continued failure to act is putting Palestinian communities and the two-state solution at risk."

Meanwhile, britain reiterated its demand that Hamas immediately and unconditionally release all Israeli hostages because the group cannot continue to rule Gaza. israel said it would not be "dissuaded by external pressure" after britain halted trade talks on Gaza.
