Pavithra, who had gotten going as a runner, took to post vault in school. "I was interested in the manner in which one goes up and descends. Pole vault isn't a classification in sub-junior occasions yet it highlights the lesser class. My mentor K Elamparithi was instrumental in me taking this game and he has assisted me with arriving at the public level," Pavithra told TOI. Elamparithi, a sports Development Authority of tamil Nadu (SDAT) mentor, had coached Mariyappan Thangavelu when the star para-competitor initial burst into the scene.

Pavithra had grabbed everybody's eye when she won gold at the south zone junior meet in Calicut recently. "I timed 3.80M during that meet which was a lesser National record. That specific exhibition gave me a ton of certainty" said Pavithra.
