However, many teams may re-add the released players in the mega auction to be held in january next year. 


This time 4 uncapped players were retained in 8 teams. mumbai Indians and chennai Super Kings won the retention.

The teams were given options that if they wish, they can retain three indian and one foreign player with them.


 Apart from this, the teams also had the option of one or two domestic and two foreign players. Significantly, after the announcement of the players retained by the eight teams, now two new franchises - ahmedabad and lucknow will get a chance to choose from the remaining players. 

New teams can choose up to 3 players, which will be announced on december 25. The new franchise has the option of two indian and one foreign player.

Kolkata Knight Riders

Andre Russell (Rs 12 crore), venkatesh Iyer (Rs 8 crore), varun Chakraborty (Rs 8 crore), and sunil Narine (Rs 6 crore). kolkata now has a budget of Rs 48 crore.
