Sedan's role model Masood Ozil is the first South Asian player to play in the Champions League

89th minute of the group stage match between Manchester United and the Young Boys in the UEFA Champions League.

Coach Ralph Rangani pulls out an 18-year-old to pull off attacking midfielder Jesse Lingard.

The 1-1 scoreline was not disrupted by the arrival of the teenager named French legend Sedan, but it was history.

Zidane Iqbal became the first 'British South Asian' player to play in the most prestigious Champions League in club football.

Zidane Iqbal's debut is long-awaited by those watching Manchester's youth-level matches.

The son of a Pakistani father and an Iraqi mother, Zidane's recent performance in the Under - 23 and Under - 19 divisions in Manchester was a resounding success.

Football observers testify that Sedan, a full-fledged attacking midfielder, can shine equally well on the central midfield and on the wings.

When new coach Ralph Rangani made it clear that Manchester United's academy would give players maximum opportunities, there were indications that Sedan's zodiac sign was about to emerge.

South Asians make up 7% of the british population, including Indians, but only 0.25% of professional footballers.

Zidane, who was born in 2003, has benefited from projects implemented by the Football Association (FA) with the goal of finding more players from this community.

Zidane's father Amar Iqbal, who took the game seriously five years ago, first enrolled him at Sale United near home.

Zidane, who was selected to Manchester's academy at the age of nine, caught the attention of coaches with his extraordinary excellence.

The player was offered a professional contract by Manchester United last April.

The South Asian community in the UK was thrilled when Sedan's name was added to the team's substitute list for yesterday's match against the Young Boys at Old Trafford. The excitement turned to joy when he was given the opportunity to enter the field in the final stages of the match.

The sedan came to the stadium with his five-year-old academy friend charlie Savage.

Sedan's role model, who is proud of his Asian background, is former German actor Masood Ozil. 'Masood Ozil is a Muslim like me.

It's good to see another Muslim player. Everyone's journey will be different. My journey was not easy either. ' Says Sedan.

Zidane, who is eligible to play in international matches for England, Pakistan, and iraq, is expected to return to his home country.

The 18-year-old, who has already made his debut for the Under-23 iraq team, wants to play for England.

However, he acknowledged that their numbers were not enough to defeat Sedan's team.
