Pakistan threatens world cup 2023 pullout...

In the t20 world cup 2022, the teams of india and pakistan will face each other in melbourne on 23 October. Due to the poor political climate between the two countries, bilateral series are not held and both the countries face each other in ICC or ACC events. Earlier, the indian team had landed against pakistan twice in the Asia Cup 2022 and now even after the world cup, these teams can face-to-face in the Asia Cup 2023. However, there is a ruckus between the two countries regarding the hosting of Asia Cup 2023.

Pakistan has been given the hosting of the Asia Cup to be held in 2023. But india has categorically refused to send its team to Pakistan. The pakistan cricket Board issued its statement on this as "shocking and disappointing" and such a move could also affect Pakistan's participation in the 2023 ICC cricket world cup to be held in India.

On the statement of ACC president and bcci secretary Jay Shah, the PCB said that the statement made about changing the venue of next year's Asia Cup was surprising. This statement was made without any discussion or suggestion with the board of Asian cricket Council or pakistan cricket Board. The PCB further said in its statement, "Pakistan was given the hosting of the ACC Asia Cup with the overwhelming support of the members of the ACC Board. Such a statement may also affect Pakistan's visit to india for the ICC cricket world cup 2023." And may affect future ICC events in india in the 2024-2031 cycle.
