Shimla: Two daughters of shimla and Sirmaur will show their strength in softball in China


Kavita Thakur of Kotkhai in shimla district and Krishika of Sirmaur have been selected in the indian team for the Asia Cup Women's Softball Championship.


Daughters of shimla and Sirmaur districts will participate in the Asia Cup Women's Softball championship to be held in Xi'an, China. The cup will be held from 14 to 20 July. Kavita Thakur of Kotkhai in shimla district and Krishika of Sirmaur have been selected in the indian team for the Asia Cup Women's Softball Championship. Tough matches will be played between teams from 10 countries in the six-day championship.

The teams ranked in the top two will qualify for the world cup Women's Softball to be held in 2026. The indian team is eyeing not only the medal but also the world cup ticket. Krishika has studied till high school at Gurukul school, Rajgarh. Now she is studying at Kanya MahavidyalayaJalandhar. Her father, Rakesh Kumar, is working in the BSF. Mother Tripta Thakur is a housewife. Kavita of Kotkhai is studying in a private university. Kavita's father has passed away. Mother Promila Devi is a housewife. Kavita Thakur has been playing softball for 8 years. Krishika has been active in sports for 5 years.


Shruti Negi of Chansu panchayat of Kinnaur has been selected for the Under-22 Asian Women's Boxing championship to be held in Bangkok, Thailand. There is a wave of happiness among the people of Kinnaur district and especially Chansu village due to shruti Negi's championship. The panchayat residents have congratulated Shruti. Currently, shruti Negi is training at the National Center of Excellence, Rohtak. Her selection is the result of her hard work and talent.


Shruti's parents, Sita Devi and Sanjay Kumar, have expressed happiness over their daughter's success. He said that this is a proud moment for the whole family. Physical teacher Karma Chand Negi said that shruti has been talented since childhood. He always inspired Shruti. Now her success will become an inspiration for the entire region. He expressed hope that shruti will bring glory to the country and Himachal on the international stage as well.
