The live-action Halo series from Paramount has reportedly incorporated a completely new version of the game's legendary energy sword. While the Covenant's Elite warriors are most typically seen using the lethal melee weapon, Makee, the Covenant's solitary human member, is seen wielding a startling version (played by charlie Murphy). Although numerous types of energy blades have appeared throughout the Halo video games and novels, none are quite like this one, which first appears in Halo episode 3.

Energy swords are weapons of nobility used by the Sangheili (also called as Elites by humans). Only the most prestigious and high-ranking members are permitted to use them. Energy swords typically feature two blades created from partially ionised, electron-based gas and are powered by the weapon's handle with built-in magnetic fields. Energy sword cuts are extremely forceful, yet due to their high temperatures, they are rapidly cauterised. They do, however, lose power with each stroke and must be recharged or discarded eventually.

While there have been versions of the energy sword in previous Halo games and novels, like as the single-pronged "energy dagger" employed by Elite Zealots in Halo: Reach, there hasn't been one precisely like the one depicted in Halo episode 3. Makee holds what appears to be a tiny energy blade that extends from her index finger and stabs the UNSC commander through the eye. As so, it appears to be a horrific new version of the energy sword, demonstrating that the Covenant's Blessed One is much more than meets the eye.
