Japan came to help for the chennai Mega Project..!?

Tamil Nadu government has presented the General Budget and Agriculture Budget for the financial year 2024-25, and all the projects are fast-tracked as additional funds and financial support is available for many development projects in the state. In this situation, the japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) has approved a loan of about Rs.2,809 crores i.e. 49,847 million Japanese yen for the 2nd phase of the chennai Peripheral Ring Road Project. The chennai Peripheral Ring Road project is being completed on a priority basis under the 'Chennai-Bangalore Industrial Corridor Comprehensive master Plan (2015)' based on the agreement between the government of japan and the Central Government.
In this five-phase mega project, land has already been acquired for the construction of 133 km of road, and this link road will go a long way in dealing with the increasing traffic congestion in the chennai metropolitan area. With this project, the Inner Ring Road, chennai Bypass Road, and Outer Ring Road will be connected to create a radial-ring road network, providing alternative routes for vehicles to better connect chennai and its surrounding areas and create faster traffic. Developed to accelerate industrial and economic development through the Peripheral Ring Road Project. It will provide easy access to Kamarajar Port and Kattupally Port from industrial establishments located in the suburbs of the chennai metropolitan area. The project will reduce the transit time between chennai and ennore ports by around 40 minutes. The project is to be implemented in 5 phases, the first phase was funded by the japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) to build a 24.5 km road in the northern part of Chennai. After this, it has now provided funding of Rs 2,809 crore for Phase 2-5 of the scheme.
