Without greenhouse gases, Earth's surface temperature would be about 59 degrees Fahrenheit (33 degrees Celsius) cooler, according to NASA. The greenhouse effect is a natural process. It helps maintain Earth's temperature within a habitable range.
But in recent years, surface temperatures have been rising due to human activities such as burning fossil fuels and deforestation. This leads to global warming. Scientists have discovered a new way to cool the Earth by reducing the amount of water vapor in the atmosphere. Researchers from the US space agency nasa and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration have published a research paper in this regard in the scientific journal Science Advances.They plan to launch the ice particles about 11 miles (17 kilometers) above Earth, just below the stratosphere. This causes cold air to rise to where it is coldest, turning water vapor into ice. But this is not something we can implement now, and we will explore how this is possible in the future, said physicist Joshua Schwarz, lead author of the study.
