A smartphone (iOS or Android)
Selfie/photo you want to turn into a sticker
🛠 Step 1: Open instagram Stories or Reels
Open the Instagram app.
Tap the + icon → select Story or Reel.
Take a new selfie or choose a photo from your gallery.
🛠 Step 2: Open the Sticker Tool
Tap the Sticker icon (smiley face) at the top.
You’ll see multiple sticker options: location, GIF, poll, etc.
Select ‘Add Yours’ or ‘Photo Sticker’ depending on your version.
🛠 Step 3: Convert Selfie into Sticker
Tap the camera icon inside stickers → take a selfie.
Instagram will automatically cut out your face/body to make a sticker (transparent background).
You can resize, rotate, and move it anywhere on the story/reel.
Tip: Use multiple selfies or expressions to create a mini sticker pack for your story.
🛠 Step 4: Customize Your Sticker
- Draw on it: Use the pen tool to add doodles.
- Add text: Tap Aa → write messages or captions.
- Add effects: Tap Sparkle, Glitch, or other filters to enhance your sticker.
🛠 Step 5: Save & Use Later
Once your sticker is ready, tap Send to → Your Story.
To reuse the sticker later, tap Sticker tray → your custom stickers will appear under Recently Used.
💡 Extra Tips
- Use good lighting for clear selfies.
- Experiment with expressions, props, or face filters to make your stickers fun.
- You can also use apps like Canva, PicsArt, or Bazaart to create full custom PNG stickers and upload them on Instagram.
