Train Accident: Express train derailed 5 killed?


A train accident has surfaced in Jalpaiguri, West bengal, many coaches of the train have derailed. 12 coaches of Bikaner-Guwahati Express derailed in Jalpaiguri, so far 5 people have been reported killed in the accident, although this bust is likely to increase. According to information received from news reporter pooja Mehta, this incident happened around 5 pm.

The Bikaner-Guwahati Express was going from patna to guwahati at the time of the accident. It is being told that people are still trapped inside the train, a rescue operation is being conducted. Two numbers (03612731622, 13612731623) have been issued by the Railways as helplines.


According to information received from railway sources, there were more than 1200 passengers on the train at the time of the accident, out of which about 700 passengers were from Rajasthan. According to the reports 40 people have been rescued from the derailed coaches, 24 were taken to Jalpaiguri district hospital and 16 were sent to Moynaguri government hospital, about 10 people are critical and they will be shifted to the North bengal Medical college in Siliguri, New Frontier Railway sources said. 

A spokesperson of the Northeast Provincial Railway (NFR) in guwahati said that the accident took place around 5 pm in an area under the Alipurduar division of the NFR. He said the accident took place at a distance of more than 90 km from Alipurduar Junction.
