Taking a big step towards reducing traffic congestion in mumbai, the maharashtra state government is planning to start a water taxi service between Radio Jetty near Gateway of india and Navi mumbai Airport. The new service is expected to reduce the travel time between the two places to just 40 minutes.

There is a plan to run a water taxi between Gateway of india Radio Club Jetty and Navi mumbai International Airport. State Ports and Fisheries minister Nitesh Rane directed that for this the department should make a complete plan and submit a proposal to build a jetty as per the need. He told this in a meeting held in the ministry regarding starting a water taxi.

Better way to reduce traffic problem

Nitesh Rane said that the work of building a terminal to start a water taxi should be started in a phased manner. For this, the airport Authority should submit a proposal for the necessary permit. minister Rane suggested that all locations should be identified to build jetties for cargo transport. This could be a better way to reduce the increasing traffic problem in Mumbai.

He said that it has been decided to start a new water taxi service, which will significantly reduce the travel time between mumbai and Navi Mumbai. This service will improve the connectivity of mumbai with various parts of Navi Mumbai. The travel time will be around 40 minutes.
