Pilot Captain sumit Sabharwal, who lost his life in the air india plane crash in ahmedabad, was given a final farewell today (Tuesday). During this, his 90-year-old father Pushkarraj Sabharwal wept bitterly. Everyone's eyes were moist. Pushkarraj folded his hands and prayed for some time in front of the body. During this, he wept bitterly. His daughter was seen consoling him.

Earlier, Sabharwal's body was placed in a coffin and brought from ahmedabad to mumbai airport by plane in the morning. After this, Sabharwal's family members took the body to his residence at Jal Vayu vihar in Powai.

Many friends, relatives and local residents of Sabharwal (56) gathered outside his residence to pay tribute. businessman Niranjan Hiranandani and local mla Dilip Lande were among those who visited Sabharwal's residence to pay their last respects.

The hearse carrying the pilot's body later left for the Chakala electric crematorium, the official said. Sabharwal (56) lived with his elderly parents in Mumbai.

The London-bound air india flight (AI-171) crashed in ahmedabad on june 12 with 242 passengers and crew members on board. All but one passenger on board died when the plane crashed into a medical college campus.

The other 29 people present in the medical college campus also died. The plane was being commanded by Captain Sabharwal and his colleague First Officer Clive Kunder. The DGCA had earlier said in a statement that Sabharwal had 8,200 hours of flying experience, while Kunder had 1,100 hours of flying experience.
