The Central Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has devised a scheme under which individuals who admit those who have been trapped in an accident will be given Rs.5000. The project's principal goal is to give emergency help to victims of traffic accidents. A maximum of five times a year, prize money will be awarded.

The police will arrive at the scene of a traffic accident and report the nature of the accident to the nearest hospital. A 'District Level Assessment Committee,' chaired by the district Collector, will investigate all accidents. The Commissioner of Transport will nominate the selected instances for an award of Rs. 5,000. The tamil Nadu Transport Commission released a news statement with this information yesterday.

The government has announced that anyone who saves a traffic accident victim's life by transporting them to a hospital within the "golden hour" would be rewarded. The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) has released guidelines for a scheme that will run from october 15, 2021, to march 31, 2026, and would reward those who assist an accident victim and save a life with a cash incentive of Rs 5000 and a certificate of Good Samaritan status. This isn't the first time such plans have been made public. In 2019, the government of puducherry launched a very comparable policy, which could be a first in the country.
