On Wednesday, employees from the Income Tax department and the Enforcement Directorate searched the homes and offices of granite business owners, including telangana minister Gangula Kamalakar. The residence and other places of the minister for civil supplies and backward classes welfare, as well as other granite businesses, were being simultaneously searched at about 20 different locations in hyderabad and Karimnagar.

Officials from the ED and IT teams searched together. According to reports, they were auditing the paperwork and financial transactions at the granite industry's offices in Panjagutta, Hyderguda, Somajiguda, and other parts of Hyderabad. The minister's residence in karimnagar town as well as the offices of granite businesses owned by his relatives in the Mankammatota and Kaman regions were both searched. The searches were conducted without the minister or any of his family members present.

The IT and ED personnel are thought to have acted after granite businessmen were accused of tax evasion and FEMA violations. Eight industries had already received notices from the ED.
