The case involving the 10th Class examination question paper leak in his Narayana group of institutions was temporarily postponed on tuesday by senior telugu desam party leader and former minister Ponguru Narayana before the high court. Narayana was able to avoid going to prison in the case because the high court overturned the chittoor sessions court's rulings that had cancelled the previous bail that had been given to him. However, the high court denied Narayana's request to throw out the charges brought against him. It also dismissed his claim that the revision petition submitted by the Andhra police's Crime Investigation Department is ineligible.

The chittoor Sessions court received instructions from the top court to hear the case again and render a decision. Recall that on november 30, a local magistrate court had released Narayana on bail, which the chittoor Sessions court revoked. He was ordered to appear before the sessions court right away. Narayana, however, contested this before the high court, which on tuesday overturned the sessions court's decisions and ordered it to conduct a new trial after considering the arguments from both sides.

Ponnavolu sudhakar Reddy, the state's additional attorney general, said the high court that it was improper to release Narayana on bail because he had jeopardised the lives of numerous pupils by causing the question paper leak. He said that by providing bail and rejecting the remand to Narayana, who turned to a serious crime, the magistrate court made a serious error. He emphasised that "the magistrate court overstepped its bounds and held a little trial."
