K. Rakesh reddy was given a life sentence on thursday by a city court in the notorious murder case of Non-Resident indian Chigurupati jayaram from more than four years ago. Rakesh reddy was found guilty two days ago by the First Additional Metropolitan Sessions Judge, who on thursday announced the severity of the punishment. Three police officers were among the eleven others who were exonerated. On january 31, 2019, Jayaram, a pharmaceutical researcher and nri businessman, was discovered dead in his vehicle along the main highway close to Nandigama in the krishna district of Andhra Pradesh.

Police investigations found that he was murdered and that the accused attempted to make it look like a road accident, despite the fact that it initially appeared to be a case of a traffic accident. During further investigation, it was discovered that the killers had used the victim as a honeypot by tricking him into thinking a woman was texting him.

Jayaram was abducted as he went to the woman's home in Banjara Hills, Hyderabad. The nri had received loans from Rakesh reddy, who, according to the police, tortured the nri to make him repay the loans by locking him in the house for 24 hours. While being held captive, the nri businessman paid 6 lakh and was forced to sign certain blank documents.


He was subsequently killed by the accused suffocating him. He later drove the body to Nandigama with the other accused people. There have been claims that the policeman assisted in moving the body. Initially, Rakesh reddy and another accused party, Nevnath Rajesh, were detained by Nandigama police after the case was filed. Later, the case was moved to the jubilee hills police station. Afterwards, more suspects were detained by the police. It has submitted a charge sheet against 12 people, including two circle inspectors and Assistant Commissioner of police Malla Reddy.
