It doesn't appear that there will be any early elections for the andhra pradesh state legislature in november or December, despite media rumours to the contrary. ysr congress party president and chief minister Y S jagan Mohan reddy ruled out the prospect of holding early elections in the state during a meeting with the party's MLAs and constituency in-charges held at tadepalli to review the Gadapa Gadapaku Prabhutvam programme.

"The chief minister clearly stated to us that the state will not be holding early elections. In a later interview with reporters, state industries minister gudivada amarnath said, "We will serve out the entire term and hold the elections as scheduled. There were persistent rumours in political circles up until a few days ago that jagan might choose to call early polls in order to defeat the escalating anti-incumbency. These rumours originated from Jagan's encounter with State governor S Abdul Nazir last week.

According to rumors, his telangana colleague k chandrasekhar rao counselled him to call a special session of the assembly and hold the elections for the assembly at least six months beforehand. There have also been rumours that jagan is being pressured to call early polls by the bharatiya janata party national leadership in order for him to do well in the 2014 general elections as well.

The rumours have subsided, though, because jagan made it plain to the party leaders that his government would continue for the entire term. It's interesting to note that the chief minister reportedly chose not to rearrange his cabinet, as was being discussed in YSRC circles. These rumours started when animal husbandry minister Seediri Apparaju was abruptly called to tadepalli, and even the minister did not completely discount it out.

However, jagan avoided talking about the cabinet reshuffle entirely during the conference on monday and instead stated that he didn't want to upset any MLAs going forward.
