Kerala police raided Dileep's residence shortly after the actor was charged in the latest case. The phones of four people — Dileep, Anoop, Suraj, and Appu — were seized by the police during the raid. However, after looking at the call detail records (CDR) on the phones, the cops discovered that the phones had been replaced and that all of the seized phones were new. According to police sources, the phones were purchased on january 9, the same day that the new FIR was filed.

The kerala Crime Branch has issued a notice to the accused, accusing them of attempting to conceal evidence, and has requested that they provide all of their old phones. The purported chat between Suraj and dileep occurred in november 2017 at the latter's Aluva home. Filmmaker Balachandrakumar, who claimed to be Dileep's buddy, also published a series of audio snippets from that time period relating to the sexual assault case. The audio clips that led to the filing of the FIR were made public by Reporter TV.

Dileep, Dileep's brother Anoop, Dileep's brother-in-law, and Dileep's sister-in-law were named in the new FIR. Suraj, Anoop's brother-in-law Appu, a man named 'VIP' by Balachandrakumar, and another individual. They were charged with abetment of an offence punishable by imprisonment under section 116 of the indian Penal Code.
