Chennai — The online pre‑registration for the “This Is Our Game 2026” sports festival has been officially launched today by Tamil Nadu deputy chief minister Udhayanidhi Stalin. This initiative invites youth across the state to register and participate in a series of sports and cultural competitions scheduled from January 22 to february 8, 2026.
The event, named “Idhu Namma Aattam 2026”, is part of the Chief Minister’s youth sports Festival, directed by tamil Nadu chief minister M.K. Stalin, and aims to promote social progress, physical fitness, sports participation, community bonding, and overall wellness among the younger generation.
🏆 Who can participate?
· Eligible participants are tamil Nadu youth aged 16 to 35 years.
· Competitions will be organized across 388 panchayat unions initially, with winners moving on to district and then state‑level contests.
🏅 Types of competitions
Events include a variety of athletic and team sports such as:
· 100‑meter sprint
· Shot put
· Kabaddi
· Volleyball
· Carrom
· Tug of war
· Street cricket
There will also be inclusive categories for differently‑abled athletes in running and shot put events at the district level.
💰 Prize money
Cash prizes have been announced at different levels:
· Panchayat level: ₹3,000 for 1st place, ₹2,000 for 2nd, ₹1,000 for 3rd.
· District level: ₹6,000 / ₹4,000 / ₹2,000.
· State level team events: ₹75,000 / ₹50,000 / ₹25,000.
The government has allocated a total prize pool of over ₹20 crore across the different levels of competition.
📅 Registration details
Interested athletes can register online from January 6 through the Tamil Nadu sports Development Authority websites: www.sdat.tn.gov.in and www.cmyouthfestival.sdat.in. The last date to register is january 21, 2026.
Participants can register individually or through their schools, colleges, village panchayats, or district sports offices. For assistance, contact local district offices of the sports Development Authority or the helpline provided.
