The long-awaited appearance of Russell Crowe's Zeus in the Thor: love and Thunder trailer has fans wondering how the Greek gods fit into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. There was never any confirmation that the Greek gods were anything more than mythological entities in Marvel's reality until it was reported that Crowe would be playing the character in Thor's next film. But, if Zeus is a genuine person, it comes to reason that several – if not all – of his contemporaries are also out there somewhere.

Thor: love and Thunder's trailer teased several major details regarding the character's future journey. The majority of the material in the trailer comes from his encounters with the Guardians of the Galaxy and Korg. It also features Natalie Portman as the Mighty Thor. It notably avoided Christian Bale's Gorr the god Butcher, but it did at least feature Zeus for a brief moment. At 0:52, a picture from behind showed the character greeting a massive crowd while holding out one of his iconic thunderbolts. Although the film doesn't explicitly state it, it's likely that what's being shown here is the vast metropolis of Olympus, the Greek gods' hidden home.
