Wolf, Snake, Piranha, Tarantula (Awkwafina), and Shark are all well-known robbers. They can't walk into a room without startling everyone else by cowering in terror. Their heists, as well as their smooth departures, annoy and unnerve the city, particularly Chief of police Misty Luggins (Alex Borstein). The Bad Guys develop a scheme to take the golden dolphin, a famous honour presented to the city's good samaritan, after being called out by the governor, Diane Foxington, so they may be deemed the world's best thieves. When things go wrong and they're handed over to professor Rupert Marmalade, who believes he can make The Bad Guys decent, things get complicated.
On the surface, The Bad Guys appears to be just the type of film one would expect. A gang of robbers attempting to pull off a theft. However, when one expects the picture to go right, it goes left, confounding expectations and elevating the material from a one-dimensional story to a multi-layered, poignant one. The concepts of the video are not only profound and interesting, but the animation is also engaging, joyful, and a lot of fun. The Bad Guys excels in its portrayal of Wolf's character, whose morals are murky at best.
However, throughout the film, he wrestles with what it means to help others and do good in a way that pits him against his pals, who have grown accustomed to being labelled as bad men without a second thought or an opportunity to prove them wrong. As the film progresses toward a fast-paced and thrilling conclusion, this disagreement creates some good tension.
