Contrary to popular belief and Donald Trump's inflation propaganda, US President Joe Biden's approval rating reached a record high shortly after the november midterm elections for the Senate and the house in which he was able to blunt the Republican "tirade" of high living costs, contain losses in the house, avert a "Red Tsunami," and stoically defend his economic policies.

The two unexpected victories by Trump-backed tv anchor Kari Lake against Katie Hobbs in Arizona, where the Maricopa County ballot is in dispute due to Hobbs refusing to submit, and Mehmet Oz's defeat to john Fetterman in pennsylvania were the heaviest blows for the Republicans. In Colorado, Jared Polis (D) won the governor's office, and Republican trump opponent Lauren Bobert defeated entrepreneur Adam Frisch (D), who had already conceded.

Despite a razor-thin Republican majority in the house (222 to 213) and the fact that Biden was able to keep the Senate majority (50 to 49), the georgia runoff between Pastor Raphael Warnock and football player Herschel Walker is expected to tip the scales in favour of Democrats on december 6. The Senate is currently split 50-50 between Democrats and Republicans, with Vice President Kamala harris holding the tie-breaking vote to pass legislation. In the house, the Democrats held a narrow 220–212 majority.
