A month after leaving the supreme court, Justice Abdul Nazeer was chosen to serve as the governor of Andhra Pradesh. He was the only judge from a minority group on the bench that rendered the ruling in the ayodhya dispute, clearing the route for the construction of the ram temple. The supreme court made its decision regarding the ram Jannabhoomi temple-Babri Masjid dispute between the two communities on november 9, 2019.

One of the five members of the supreme court bench who delivered the final decision was Justice S. Abdul Nazeer. He left his job in January. The Constitution Bench under Justice Nazeer upheld the 2016 demonetization procedure. Additionally, he had stated that there was no need to impose any additional limitations on leaders', MPs', and MLAs' right to free speech. Justice Nazeer, who was born on january 5th, 1958, in Beluvai, Karnataka's Dakshina kannada district, enrolled as an advocate on february 18th, 1983, having earned his LLB from the SDM Law college in Mangaluru.

On May 12, 2003, he was appointed as the karnataka High Court's Additional Judge after having previously worked there. On september 24, 2004, he was appointed as a permanent judge, and on february 17, 2017, he was promoted to the supreme Court. Justice Nazeer participated in a number of significant constitutional court rulings, including those on the triple talaq, right to privacy, ayodhya case, and most recently, the Centre's 2016 decision on demonetisation and parliamentarians' free speech.
