Biden informed Netanyahu in a one-on-one meeting that the explosion at the Gaza hospital al-Ahli "looked to have been done by the other team and not you." 500 people are said to have died in the blast that occurred at the Gaza hospital. While the Israeli military claimed that the event was caused by a botched rocket fire by the Palestinian terror group Islamic Jihad, Hamas accused israel of the blast.
According to Biden, over 1,300 individuals, including 31 Americans, were "slaughtered" by Hamas, a group that is classified as a terrorist organization by the US and Israel.
"They have kidnapped several individuals, including kids. Referring to the terrorist organization notorious for kidnapping and executing foreign individuals, Biden stated, "They have committed atrocities that make the Islamic State (ISIS) look somewhat more rational."
The US President stated that Hamas only caused pain for the Palestinian people and that it did not speak for them.
According to The Times of israel, Netanyahu expressed his gratitude to Biden for supporting israel "today, tomorrow, and forever."
"Just as the civilized world united to defeat the Nazis, and united to defeat ISIS, the civilized world must unite to defeat Hamas...for peace and security in the region, and in the world," he stated.
He described Biden's visit to israel as "deeply moving" and stated that he was the first US President to do so during the conflict.
It illustrates how deeply you personally support Israel. "It demonstrates your profound dedication to the future of the Jewish people and the exclusively Jewish state," stated Netanyahu.
The Israeli leader referred to the collaboration as "truly unprecedented" and stated, "We have seen your support every day in the breadth and depth of cooperation that we have had since the beginning of this war."
According to The Times of israel, Netanyahu expressed gratitude to Biden for giving israel "the tools we need to defend ourselves" and for "the clear message you've sent our enemies not to test our resolve."
