YS sharmila may be the high command's own sister, but she was not immune to the propaganda of a segment of the YCP's social media wing. For the last week, a segment of the ycp social media wing has been spreading the message that YS sharmila should be referred to as 'Morusupalli sharmila Sastry' because she shares her husband Anil's last name and caste.

However, sharmila shot down the ycp narrative while addressing with the media today and responded. "I am the daughter of YS Rajasekhar Reddy, which makes me sharmila Reddy. My son's name is raja Reddy, which my father, YSR, gave him affectionately. How can I not be sharmila Reddy at the request of some people?" sharmila inquired. There was speculation that the ycp social media wing attempted to distance sharmila from the YS tag as well as Reddy's support. However, sharmila was quick to respond, shooting down the jagan party supporters' narrative with her most recent comments.

Sharmila stated during the kakinada Congress gathering, "Our family is divided because of jagan anna." god bears witness to this reality. My mother, Vijayamma, is a witness to this fact. My entire family bears testimony to this fact."
