Tears were streaming down APCC President YS Sharmila's face as she bemoaned her brother YS jagan Mohan Reddy's claims. sharmila said, "He (Jagan) has been telling everyone that I have been contesting in elections only for political benefits," during a news conference in kadapa today. Did he not force me to pursue politics? Is this not the same person who asked me to accompany him on a padayatra while he was incarcerated?
 
Sharmila said that she abandoned her family and traveled hundreds of km on a padayatra only to see Jagan. She went on to say that during the padayatra, the whole ycp was supporting her. "Had I not enticed all ycp leaders to me back then if I wanted political benefits?" she said. 

Sharmila observed that a large number of international leaders in politics are descended from the same family yet serve different political parties only due to ideological differences. sharmila became upset and yelled at Jagan. She declared that she would not have joined any other party if she had desired political gain and that she would have done so in the YCP. She continued by saying that numerous ycp leaders supported her candidature for the kadapa MP position.

Are you genuinely under the impression that my goals are for monetary and political gain? Don't you agree that I gave you my all since I thought you would reinstate the ysr welfare state? I firmly vow by the bible that I am not a political activist for selfish interests. She asked jagan, "Can you, in turn, swear on the bible to prove my statement false?" sharmila went on to say that the ycp has been spreading a lot of false information about her on social media, oblivious to the fact that she is YS Rajashekar Reddy's daughter. She asked jagan if this is how he respects his sister, who gave up a lot to support him as he was rising to prominence.
