The relationship between india and its bitter adversary pakistan has become even more tense as a result of the pahalgam terror assault and India's response, Operation Sindoor.  Indians are adamantly calling for a permanent prohibition on bilateral diplomacy and trade with the hostile country.

Today, the indian government made a significant decision in the interest of national security and amid the tensions across the border. With immediate effect, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (I&B) advised media streaming platforms, middlemen, and publishers of online curated content to stop producing web series, movies, music, podcasts, and other content that originated in Pakistan. The 2021 wallet PLATFORM' target='_blank' title='digital-Latest Updates, Photos, Videos are a click away, CLICK NOW'>digital media Ethics Code Rules and Intermediary Guidelines served as the foundation for the advisory's release.

A number of terrorist incidents in india have been linked to Pakistani state and non-state entities, according to the I&B Ministry's advice. Protests against indian actors and filmmakers collaborating with actors and professionals of Pakistani descent have already taken place across the country on multiple occasions.

Few films were heavily criticized for using actors of Pakistani descent after the pahalgam terror assault.  Actors and technicians of Pakistani descent have previously appeared in a number of regional and bollywood films.  If necessary, the advice may compel streaming services to remove all references of this kind or remove the entire piece of video.

The recent action by the indian government will also have a negative effect on all upcoming streaming events between india and pakistan, particularly cricket.  The streaming platforms' earnings are expected to suffer greatly as a result.  The bcci has already turned down multiple invitations to play in pakistan, including the Champions Trophy.  But in February, the india vs. pakistan group encounter took place in Dubai.
