Tension continues between india and pakistan since Operation Sindoor. Meanwhile, pakistan has issued a NOTAM (notice) to close its airspace for indian aircraft from 23 May to 23 june 2025. This includes indian airlines and operator operated, owned or leased aircraft. Apart from this, military flights are also included.

This decision from pakistan has come amid increasing military tension between the two countries. 'Notam was issued by pakistan on 24 April'

According to the Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) issued by Pakistan's aviation authorities on friday, pakistan has extended the closure of its airspace for indian aircraft and aircraft operated by indian airlines and operators for one month.

The NOTAM issued by pakistan on april 24 was to expire at 5:29 am indian time on saturday (May 24) and was replaced by a new NOTAM on friday (May 23), whose effective period has been extended to 5:29 am india time on june 24.

'It is taking more time to go to europe and Middle East'

About 800 flights of Indian airlines are being affected by longer flights per week, increased fuel consumption and some other complications related to flight scheduling, increasing operating costs. Indian airlines flights from North india to West Asia, the Caucasus, europe, the UK and the eastern region of North America are operating on longer routes than their regular routes, adding travel time by a few hours.
