The term "obliterated" has been true to itself. The hour-long action-comedy series has decided not to move further with a second season on Netflix. Following its november 30 premiere, Obliterated lasted a good six weeks in the Netflix Top 10 for English-language series, peaking at No. 1 in Week 2, so the termination is quite surprising. The streamer evaluates views versus cost when making judgments about renewals.

Obliterated, which was written by Cobra Kai founders Jon Hurwitz, Hayden Schlossberg, and josh Heald, narrates the tale of a top-tier Special Forces squad that stops a lethal danger to Las Vegas.  The team found out that a bomb they neutralized was a fake after their celebration, which was full of drugs, alcohol, and sex.  The squad, now intoxicated, had to overcome their personal problems, fight through their impairments, locate the genuine bomb, and save the planet.

The show, which was produced by sony Pictures Television, starring Nick Zano, Shelley Hennig, Terrence Terrell, Alyson Gorske, C. Thomas Howell, Eugene Kim, Paola Lázaro, and Amalia Yoo.  In addition to Dina Hillier, Hurwitz, Schlossberg, and Heald served as executive producers.

Heald, Hurwitz, and Schlossberg of Counterbalance Entertainment, the creators of hard-R comedies like the Harold & Kumar franchise, Hot Tub Time Machine, American Reunion, and Blockers, came up with the original idea for Obliterated. They stated that the show was intended to resemble an R-rated action-comedy feature film that was divided into eight episodes with a beginning, middle, and end.
