He stated, “This is an unfortunate incident. We have a very good tradition of respecting cinematic culture.”
Tharoor criticized the withholding of clearance for seven films, calling it ridiculous.
He emphasized that such incidents reflect poorly on the country and put India’s international image at stake.
He urged bureaucrats to develop a better understanding of artistic and cultural expression.
