
To commemorate the international Day of yoga on Saturday, india will host themed events and programs in 1,300 cities worldwide, highlighting the country's longstanding customs and soft power.
The indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), the cultural branch of the Ministry of External Affairs, said in a statement on friday that the indian High Commission in pakistan is also hosting a yoga event in Islamabad in honor of the anniversary.

We are holding several events in different places in several nations, such as the US," ICCR director General K Nandini Singla was cited as saying in a release.
2,000 events at 1,300 sites
To commemorate the international Day of yoga, the ICCR will sponsor a number of yoga events and programs in 191 countries on june 21. The organization stated that over 2,000 events will be held in 1,300 locations throughout several cities in different countries.
Furthermore, 17 yoga gurus and practitioners from 15 countries—including Brazil, Argentina, Russia, China, South Africa, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Singapore, and South Korea—will lead the yoga Day events throughout india as part of the ICCR's "Yoga Bandhan," a signature event of the international Day of yoga 2025, according to Singla.
According to her, similar 'Yoga Bandhan' programs will be held at famous sites like Lucknow, Ayodhya, Varanasi, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Bhopal, Gwalior, and other places. like Delhi, these foreign yoga gurus will lead yoga activities at Jantar Mantar, Qutub Minar, Purana Quila, and Humayun's Tomb.
