Lakhs of people reached puri to participate in Rath Yatra
According to a PTI report, police sources said that about one lakh people had reached puri by thursday evening and this number increased manifold on Friday morning. He said that lakhs of devotees from all over the country and abroad are expected to participate in this Rath Yatra. Sri jagannath temple Administration (SJTA) Chief Administrator Arabinda Padhi said, "With the grace of Mahaprabhu (Lord Jagannath), we are fully prepared for the smooth conduct of Rath yatra on Friday. We are getting full support and cooperation from the sevadars. All preparations have been completed to make this grand event a success."
Tight security arrangements in Puri
Around 10,000 security personnel have been deployed in the city, including eight contingents of the Central Armed police Forces. Odisha Director General of police (DGP) YB Khurania said that for the first time, an integrated command and control center has been opened in puri to keep a close watch on the entire festival.
