In one horrifying instance, a Muslim girl who loved a Hindu Dalit youth was viciously killed by her own family. They also severely assaulted the man. The girl's body was secretly interred in the village cemetery following the murder, but the issue was made public after the young person's relatives filed a complaint. So far, six people have been taken into custody in this matter.

The event occurred in Palda village, Baghpat district, when Sania, a girl, was strangled to death by her family on July 23. Sagar, a Dalit Hindu youngster from the same household, was adored by the 18-year-old girl. However, Sagar, who works in a brick kiln in the Una area of Himachal, comes from a poor family, but Sania was a member of a powerful family in the village.

During his frequent trips back to his hometown from work, Sagar met Sania, and their love eventually blossomed. Since Sania's family did not approve of their relationship, they used to meet in secret in the hamlet. They intended to elope together as well.

Sania and Sagar traveled to Himachal on the 15th of this month. Her family suspected that she had gone with her lover, so they started a search after she vanished and made it to Himachal.  When they found the couple in Himachal, they severely abused Sagar.  On July 16, they returned to the village with Sania and Sagar.

They severely beat the couple after tying them to a tube well in a bush close to the settlement. Sania was then taken home, and Sagar was released.  Sagar, however, never made it home and has been missing ever since.

Notwithstanding her parents' protests, Sania's family killed her because they were unhappy with the attack. According to accounts, the murder on July 23 was committed by Sania's uncle Matloob, cousin Sadiq, and a young kid from the family.  The incident also implicated two relatives from Asara village and two from Sunna village in muzaffarnagar district.

According to the accused, they intended to marry Sania when she was returned, but she insisted on marrying Sagar alone because she wasn't ready to marry anyone else.  They were so incensed by this that they killed her.  On the day of the crime, Sania was strangled by her uncle Matloob and cousin Sadiq, who pushed her mouth and throat together while the young boy grabbed her legs.

Sania's mother and father were there and begged them to leave her, but they ignored them.  Following the girl's death, the family buried her remains in the village cemetery and informed the villagers that she had TB. A police investigation was initiated, and the crime was revealed after Sagar's family filed a complaint with the authorities since he had gone missing.  On Saturday, the police had the body unearthed and submitted for a post-mortem test.

The murderers of Sania are not sorry for what they did.  Rather, Matloob conveyed his disappointment at not killing Sagar.  He claimed to have realized his "mistake" of leaving Sagar alive after the fact.  He claimed that it would have been preferable if he had also killed Sagar.
Six persons have been arrested in connection with the investigation thus far, according to a statement released by Baghpat Police. They are Sahib, Sadiq, Arman, Shan, Matloob, and Naseem, the victim's own brother. Balish, Sania's father, has also been listed as a suspect. Two other people named in the case—one Sonmohammed and Matloob's son Aarish—have not yet been taken into custody.

They have been booked under sections 191(2) / 115 (2) / 351 (2) / 103(1) / 61 (2) / 238 of BNS.
