America has made a deal with
pakistan regarding oil. PAK says that
balochistan has reserves of
oil and other minerals. Meanwhile, Baloch
leader Mir Yar Baloch has written an open
letter to US President
trump, in which he said that
balochistan is not for sale.
Mir Yar Baloch said that you (Trump) have been completely misled about the huge
oil and mineral reserves of this region. General Asim Munir has given you wrong information about geography. He further wrote that this area is not a part of Pakistan's
punjab province, but belongs to the Republic of
balochistan which has historically been a sovereign nation. His main argument was that this area is not for sale and exploitation of its resources will not be acceptable to
pakistan,
china or any other country.
Recently
trump has announced an
oil deal with Pakistan. He had said that maybe in future
india will also buy
oil from Pakistan. This deal of America can be a strategy to put pressure on India. However, Baloch leaders have come out openly against this deal. China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) already has a big influence in this region, due to which the distrust of the
local Baloch communities on the governments has increased.
Historical struggle of Baloch leaders
The Baloch have been struggling against Pakistani occupation and Chinese economic infiltration for a long time. Protests, demonstrations and even armed conflicts have become common in this region regarding CPEC projects. Mir Yar Baloch said that the Balochs have the right over our resources. These cannot be sold at the will of the offices of
punjab or Islamabad.
