This collaboration underscores OnePlus' commitment to enhancing local production and aligns with its long-term vision for the indian market, particularly through its recent 'Project Starlight' initiative aimed at increasing local integration.
According to a statement from OnePlus, the company is expanding its local manufacturing capabilities beyond smartphones to include tablet production at BPL’s facility in Greater Noida. Robin Liu, CEO of OnePlus india, emphasized that localizing tablet manufacturing reinforces the brand's dedication to the indian market while providing value to its user community. Liu stated, "This partnership reflects our long-term vision to innovate for india, invest in india, and grow with India."
This collaboration also supports prime minister Narendra Modi's ambition to establish india as a global technology hub, enhancing the country's competitiveness in the international arena. india, alongside china and Vietnam, is emerging as a key player in global electronics manufacturing as companies look to diversify their supply chains.
