Karnataka cm Reviews Demand to Ban RSS Activities

Chief Minister's Response

Chief minister Siddaramaiah has responded to calls for a ban on the RSS's activities in Karnataka. He confirmed that the Chief Secretaries of the state have been instructed to conduct a thorough review of the matter.

Call for a Ban

The demand to ban the RSS is gaining momentum, with State Rural Development minister Priyank Kharge strongly advocating for strict action against the organization. He argued that the RSS is using government buildings and premises to promote its ideology and activities, which he believes should be stopped.

Karnataka to Follow tamil Nadu's Example

CM Siddaramaiah noted that the tamil Nadu government has already banned RSS activities on government property. karnataka is planning to adopt a similar approach. Siddaramaiah emphasized that no organization, including the RSS, will be allowed to use public property for political or ideological purposes.

Government Premises Issue

Minister Priyank Kharge accused the RSS of running its branches in government and aided schools, as well as public spaces. He raised concerns about the influence this could have on children and youth, claiming that the RSS spreads negative and divisive ideologies.

Kharge's Allegations

Kharge also criticized the RSS for being a secretive organization that has not registered itself but still receives significant funding. He questioned the organization's transparency and its influence on the ruling BJP. He called for greater accountability from the RSS, demanding clarity on its contributions over the last century.

Government's Next Steps

Legal and administrative measures are being reviewed to impose restrictions similar to those in tamil Nadu, ensuring that government resources are not used for ideological purposes.
