In a major step towards future-ready education, the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) is introducing Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based textbooks and curriculum for schools across India. This initiative aims to equip students with essential AI skills from an early age.
What NCERT is Planning
· A special Textbook Development Team has been formed to prepare AI-focused textbooks.
· Initially, the curriculum and textbooks will be prepared for classes 11 and 12, targeting students who are about to enter higher education and professional courses.
· From the academic year 2026-27, AI concepts will also be introduced to students in class 3, laying a strong foundation from the early years.
