Kamal Haasan has asked the tamil Nadu government to act quickly to obtain the necessary coal from the Central government. Kamal Haasan, Chairman of the Makkal Needhi Mayam party, issued the following statement: tamil Nadu's daily power demand is 14000 megawatts (MW). It will peak at around 17000 MW in the summer. Thermal power stations in tamil Nadu generate up to 4320 MW of electricity per day.

The continuous functioning of thermal power plants requires coal. In thermal power plants, it is typical to hold the required coal reserve for 14 days. The tamil Nadu Power Generation and Distribution Corporation (TNGDC) has only four days' worth of coal at its thermal power facilities in North Chennai, Thoothukudi, and Mettur. Fears that this could disrupt electricity generation and cause blackouts in tamil Nadu have been expressed by everyone, including the film industry.

The catastrophic power outages in tamil Nadu during the last DMK rule, from 2006 to 2011, had a significant impact on agriculture, industry, and medical services. Coimbatore, Tiruppur, Karur, and Sivakasi, all industrial cities, were in a condition of economic collapse. Many companies have relocated their operations to other states. In tamil Nadu, such an environment should not be allowed to emerge again.

Electricity supply

The recession, the corona outbreak, and the rise in gasoline and diesel prices have all had an impact on the tamil people's livelihoods. After an extended hiatus, schools are preparing to restart. Merchants are preparing for the holiday season sale. electricity must be available at all times for hospitals and farmers. tamil Nadu will not be able to sustain another power outage in this situation.

Tamil Nadu's government should move quickly to request the requisite coal from the Government. The central government should also expand coal imports and ensure that thermal power plants have a steady supply of coal.
