The estimate was published in a report on global inequality titled "Inequality Inc (Income Inequality)." In contrast, the same Oxfam report suggests that the United Nations (UN) may not achieve its goal of ending global poverty until 2249, which is 229 years from now. The UN had set a target to eradicate poverty by 2030.

Oxfam's findings indicate that the world's five wealthiest individuals have more than doubled their wealth since 2020. This exclusive list includes tesla CEO Elon Musk, LVMH owner bernard arnault, amazon founder jeff bezos, Oracle founder larry ellison, and investor Warren Buffett.
Forbes Real Time Rankings currently places Elon Musk at the top with a fortune of $226.6 billion, followed by bernard arnault and family with $175.1 billion, jeff bezos with $173.6 billion, larry ellison with $134.9 billion, and warren buffett with $119.5 billion.
The report notes that post-COVID, billionaires have seen an increase in their wealth, accumulating an additional $3.3 billion compared to 2020. However, approximately 5 billion people worldwide have experienced increased poverty during the same period.
